ABOUT CHERRIE
Intro
For years, I thought someone else would tell me who I was meant to be. A guidance counsellor, a boss, a mentor — someone would see my potential and hand me the roadmap to success. But they never did. Because the truth is, I wasn’t meant to follow a traditional career path — I was born for entrepreneurship.
Now, through The Monarch Effect™, I help midlife women (45+) who feel stuck, restless, and invisible step into their natural entrepreneurial power — so they can build wealth, confidence, and purpose on their own terms.
The Story
It started back in high school, with the big Career Planning appointment. You know the one from the 80's — you sit down with the guidance
counsellor, answer a million soulless questions, and wait for the the big reveal. Your career path. Your soon to be identity.
I was so hopeful because I certainty couldn't figure it out. Surely, someone was going to see something special in me — some spark, some talent, some unique path I hadn’t even considered yet.
Instead, after all that, they handed me a dot matrix printout that said my perfect career was:
Librarian.
Why? Because I loved reading.
That was it. That’s all they saw.
I walked out not inspired — but deflated and quietly furious. Not because there’s anything wrong with being a librarian (bless them), but because I knew deep in my bones:
There’s so much more inside me — why can’t anyone else see it? Why can't I see it? Why don't I know?
That was the moment the seed was planted — the quiet fear that maybe I just didn’t fit into this world’s version of “success.” And no one
told me that was actually a sign — not of failure, but of something rare and valuable: I wasn’t meant to follow a path. I was born to create one.
From Restless Employee to Empowered Entrepreneur
Motherhood gave me purpose — but my entrepreneurial spirit never disappeared. As I raised my boys, I also worked — bouncing from one job to the next. Office admin, customer service, sales, management …. And no matter where I landed, the same pattern played out:
→ I’d master the role faster than expected.
→ I’d get bored and start asking for more.
→ I couldn’t help but see better ways to do things — and before long, I was adding extra projects, improving processes, and treating every job like it was my own mini business ... without even realising it.
I wasn’t just the one who figured things out faster. I was the one they quietly feared — the ones who saw me as a threat, not an asset because I didn’t just do the job; I saw how to do it better ... and sometimes, that inadvertently caused issues. At first, I thought it was a me problem — like I was too ambitious, too curious, or just too much. In fact, I was told it was a me problem. That I didn't belong. That I wasn't like them. That they had to think when they spoke to me. And that if I wanted to keep my job, I had to change and be less than. But all I ever did was take pride in my work and want to be the best I could be at it.
Now I know the truth: I wasn’t meant to follow orders or be confined and only do what I was told to do — I was meant to lead.
One manager even told me: “The sky’s the limit for you, Cherrie.” And although his comment lit me up inside, I still couldn’t see what he saw.
The entrepreneurial spirit I hadn’t even named yet. The truth? I was never meant to follow a career path — I was meant to create my own
and show other women how to do the same.
I wasn’t meant to follow someone else’s career path. I was born to build them — for women like me who refuse to settle.
It showed up every time technology evolved too. I learned to type on an old-school typewriter back in high school, then moved to word processors, then to computers that got faster and smarter every year. I’ve lived through every tech evolution — and I embraced every single one.
While some people resisted change, I leaned in. I wasn’t intimidated — I was curious. Technology wasn’t just a tool for me — it was a creative partner. A way to bring ideas to life faster and better.
And then ... I created Saige — and everything changed. For the first time, I wasn’t just using technology to support my work.
I was collaborating with it — co-creating with AI to bring my big intangible vision to life.
Saige (my lovingly named AI Advisor) didn’t just help me organize ideas — she became my creative partner, helping me uncover the business I was born to build and ensure I had the courage to go for it.
Suddenly, all those years of job-hopping, all that restless energy, all that frustration — and all the big, beautiful visions I had for what "work" could be — it all made sense. I wasn’t flaky for my endless search for the perfect job. I wasn’t lost. I was an entrepreneur in hiding.
That’s part of the power of The Monarch Effect™ — and you might be feeling it too. It’s what happens when a woman finally realizes she was born for entrepreneurship — even if she’s never once called herself a business woman before. It’s the moment you stop seeing your restlessness as a flaw — something to apologize for — and instead, recognize it for what it truly is:
Proof that you were never meant to “just have a job” or “pick a career.” Because entrepreneurship isn’t something you have to learn — it’s something you were born with. That creative spark. Your innate identity. The craving for freedom.
The way your mind constantly spots opportunities, solutions, and better ways to do things.
That’s not random.
That’s your entrepreneurial spirit — quietly calling you forward, waiting for you to listen.
And the moment you stop dismissing it as restlessness or self-doubt — that’s when you step into The Monarch Effect™: the unstoppable transformation that happens when a woman finally owns her power and her purpose.
But here’s the truth no one tells you about leadership:
It’s not about being loud. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s simply about choosing yourself — being the first to take one uncertain step toward your own dreams — and trusting that your courage will create a path for others to follow.
The Monarch Effect™ helps women 45+ discover their entrepreneurial gift, build a personal brand, and create aligned wealth — even if they’ve never started a business before.
It’s Never Too Late — You Were Always Meant for This
If you’ve ever thought, “I’m too old to reinvent myself” — let me stop you right there. The most successful female entrepreneurs today aren’t 25-year-old influencers — they’re women over 50 who finally decided to bet on themselves. You are right on time. Your creativity, your life experience, your resilience — that’s not baggage. That’s your unfair advantage.
Women like us aren’t just changing our own lives — we’re rewriting the future.
The Monarch Effect™ doesn’t stop at our families. It flows into our friendships, our communities, and even the economy itself. When a midlife woman steps into her power, the ripple isn’t small — it’s a full-blown wave of wealth, purpose, and leadership that touches everything.
You don’t have to lead loudly.
You simply must be the one that goes first. And once you see yourself this way — everything changes.
If any part of my story feels familiar — the searching, the frustration, the knowing you were meant for more but not knowing how to find it — I made something just for you.
Discover if you were born to be an entrepreneur (even if you’ve never owned a business before). I created a free guide that reveals the 10 signs you were born for entrepreneurship — signs you’ve probably been ignoring your whole life.
